Tip 27 – Sales – Expression of interest – Don’t get in a bind

Binding expressions of interest can cause more trouble than what they’re worth. Don’t listen to agents that tell you that if it’s not binding, or a “holding deposit” is not paid, then the buyer is not serious.  Make your expressions of interest non-binding and work with your team of consultants to ensure that contracts issue as soon as possible after an expression of interest is received. Rely on the contract for the sale, not the expression of interest.
